I went back to look at the progress the tadpoles had made and discovered that the culvert that the ditch supplied had been replaced with a new one and the folks who did the repairing decided to dig out the ditch in order to make it deeper and clean it out.  It's now dry and no signs of any water for any survivors to hide out in.

What a bummer!

This morning thunderstorms rolled through at about 3:15 and again at 5:30.  The wind picked up both times and the sound of rain on the roof was very relaxing. 

The first strom caused Loki to dive under the bed.

Now the air smells fresh and clean.

This morning I went out turkey hunting.

This is what the woods look and sound like at daybreak.

I woke to see that there was snow on my truck, not lots but it was still coming out of the sky.

The temperature is 33 degrees.

It has become cold again.  Well not so bad as in winter but after the spat of warm days, 15 degrees sure does seem cold!

I think I will have some oatmeal for breakfast.

The cold has returned.  12 degrees this morning.  Clear skies.

Only 7 dinosaur fossils have ever been found in New York State, and all 7 were foot prints.

The reason is that due to erosion and glaciers, the dinosaur level of rock has been eroded out of most of the state.

On of the things I'm not too thrilled with about my little thermometer is that it only remember's the high and low temps and humidity of the current day as define by the Atomic clock.  Last night when I went to be, the temperature had dropped to 0.6, this morning it indicated that the lowest temperature since 12:00 pm was 4.8 (it's currently 13.6)

Oh well, can't have everything in a clever little device.

This morning a nice 12.2 degrees.

Another night of single digit temperatures.  It's reading 9.5 right now.

It hit -1.5 during the night and it's -1.1 now.

The cold snap continues.

My goodness, it was -5.4 degrees this morning when I woke up and the low temperature during the night hit -9.6.

The low temp was a new record for the TARDIS,  -5.8 degrees and a high of 14.4 degrees. 

Yesterday while driving to work I saw this horse covered with snow and tolerating the frigid temperatures.


He's pretty robust and the cold didn't seem to be giving him too much problem.

Last night it was windy.  I heard the bathroom vent flap squeak and bang all night as the wind blew it open and closed.

It's been slow here at work so far.

I decided to visit NORAD's Santa tracker to see how Santa is doing on his travels.

Yesterday it was 50 degrees and raining, this morning it's 29 degrees and there is snow on the truck.

It's a winter wonderland out there.
